Antiziganism refers to discriminatory behaviour towards people who are classified by individuals or institutions under the stigmatising term ‘gypsy’. This discrimination and stereotyping primarily affects members of the Sinti* and Roma* minority recognised in Germany, but also other people and groups of people, for example Yenish, Travellers or other people who are read as ‘Gypsies’.
The aim of our work is to inform prospective teachers, educators and educational multipliers about the topic of antiziganism, to sensitise them and to support them in developing preventive measures against antiziganism and intervening in antiziganist incidents.
